Session Rates
Initial consultation — $500
Regular meetings for psychotherapy — $250
Medication monitoring or infrequent therapy — $300
Session Duration
The initial consultation is typically 90-120 minutes long, and all follow-up appointments are scheduled for 50-55 minutes. Please note that in some cases, it may take more than a single session to complete the initial evaluation.
Fee Scale
The session fee is slightly higher if we are meeting primarily for medication monitoring or if we are meeting less often than every other week for therapy because of the higher proportion of out-of-session time spent on documentation, care coordination, and other administrative tasks in this case. If we are meeting regularly for both psychotherapy and medication monitoring, the lower fee will be applied.
For patients interested in meeting with high frequency (more than once per week) for psychotherapy, the session fee may be reduced to help offset the cost of more intensive treatment. I am otherwise at capacity for reduced-fee treatment, but I can add your name to a wait list if you would like to be notified when openings for sliding scale or pro bono treatment become available.
Insurance
My practice is considered "out of network" with all insurers. This means that I do not submit claims or receive payments from any insurance provider, including Medicare or Medicaid. Patients are therefore directly responsible for payment of all treatment fees. I am able to contract privately with patients with Medicare coverage, however I cannot see patients with Colorado Medicaid due to state statutes.
While I do not work with any insurance companies, I can provide "super bill" documents that you may submit to your insurer for reimbursement. If you are interested in this option, I recommend that you review your plan documents carefully and/or contact your insurer to verify your eligibility for out-of-network benefits. Different insurance plans may reimburse some, all, or none of the out-of-pocket cost of treatment.
Billing
Payments are processed electronically on a monthly basis. I ask that all patients maintain a card on file to streamline the billing and payment process. Superbills are typically available on the first Friday of the following month.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments and late cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be billed at the full session rate.
